What we do

Nature

Naturopathy is the art, science, and philosophy of nature. It is an holistic approach to health and wellness based on the unique qualities of each individual. It uses the principal that our body has an inherent ability to heal itself, given the right environment.

Naturopathy at our South Devon clinic is guided by the following founding principles:

  • First, do no harm
  • Utilise the healing power of nature
  • Treat the cause of imbalance, not just the symptoms
  • Treat the whole person; mind, body and spirit

Science

We use the most advanced screening technology available today. Our screening system will reveal disturbances on all levels: structural, biochemical, energetic and emotional.

Additionally, we use a highly powered microscope to evaluate a single drop of blood, which contains a mass of information to assess an individual's current state of balance / imbalance.

What we offer

At our South Devon naturopathic clinic, we offer:

  • Food Sensitivity Testing
  • Allergy Advice
  • State-of-the-art Health Screening
  • Cellular Analysis
  • Naturopathic Consultations
  • Personalised Retreats

We have achieved outstanding success with a wide range of symptoms; such as disruptive menopause, hormone imbalance, skin conditions, allergies and food intolerances, fatigue and ME, poor immune function, viruses, IBS, diabetes, parasites, candida, stress, sleep problems, migraines, low libido and more.

Devon's allergy advice clinic

Allergies plague thousands across Devon and many are less obvious than a strong reaction to nuts.

The human body can also be intolerant to a number of food types, environmental stimuli and substances - knowing which your body is negatively affected by is the first step to cutting them out of your life.

The difference can be massive, which is why we enjoy offering allergy advice and food intolerance tests as part of our repertoire.

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic Medicine is a unique approach to health and healing. Naturopathy recognises the inherent healing capacity within each individual and seeks to stimulate, enhance and support this instinctive ability in order to achieve optimal health and well-being. Naturopathy is, by definition, patient-centred treatment.

Naturopaths believe all living things have an innate ability to heal themselves. This vital force promotes self-cleansing, self-repair, and therefore self-healing. The goal of the Naturopath is to discover the underlying cause of illness which is specific to the individual rather than merely focusing on alleviating the symptoms.

You can explore this further on the Naturopathy UK website, or read on for information about our consultation process.

Our Totnes and South West Naturopathic Consultant

A Naturopathic Consultation with Nature & Science involves taking a comprehensive history of the patient to determine where in the body the ‘dis-ease’ lies. We treat our patients holistically, taking into consideration the individual’s lifestyle and dietary habits, emotional well-being and environmental factors.

A comprehensive report will be written which will include solutions to help bring the body back to full health.

The body’s self-healing ability can be better understood if one takes into account the fact that homeostasis, or biological balance, is the main characteristic of any healthy system. Given the proper support, care, and the chance to function freely without suppression, the system can be brought back to a state of balance or “ease” (as opposed to “dis-ease); restoring vital health.

Each individual has their own unique set of symptoms and reactions which will dictate the approach we take to treat them. Get in touch to discuss your health concerns further.
