What we do

Naturopathy is the art, science, and philosophy of nature. It is an holistic approach to health and wellness based on the unique qualities of each individual. It uses the principal that our body has an inherent ability to heal itself, given the right environment.

Naturopathy at our North Devon clinic is guided by the following founding principles:

  • First, do no harm
  • Utilise the healing power of nature
  • Treat the cause of imbalance, not just the symptoms
  • Treat the whole person; mind, body and spirit

We use the most advanced screening technology available today. Our screening system will reveal disturbances on all levels: structural, biochemical, energetic and emotional.

Additionally, we use a highly powered microscope to evaluate a single drop of blood, which contains a mass of information to assess an individual's current state of balance / imbalance.

What we offer

At our North Devon naturopathic clinic, we offer:

  • Food Sensitivity Testing
  • Allergy Advice
  • State-of-the-art Health Screening
  • Cellular Analysis
  • Naturopathic Consultations
  • Personalised Retreats

We have achieved outstanding success with a wide range of symptoms; such as disruptive menopause, hormone imbalance, skin conditions, allergies and food intolerances, fatigue and ME, poor immune function, viruses, IBS, diabetes, parasites, candida, stress, sleep problems, migraines, low libido and more.

Devon's allergy advice clinic

Allergies plague thousands across Devon and many are less obvious than a strong reaction to nuts.

The human body can also be intolerant to a number of food types, environmental stimuli and substances - knowing which your body is negatively affected by is the first step to cutting them out of your life.

The difference can be massive, which is why we enjoy offering allergy advice and food intolerance tests as part of our repertoire.

Anti-inflammatory turmeric tea:

This drink is no Horlicks replacement and you may want to look elsewhere for your relaxing, end-of-the-night beverage, but what it does have is a powerful anti-inflammatory effect. That makes it a very valuable addition to your recipe book.

Golden Milk is an ancient Ayurvedic drink made using turmeric and milk, and it’s the best way I can think of to get turmeric into the daily diet. Turmeric is very good for you as it has a lot of curcumin, a powerful polyphenol antioxidant that also gives the brew its beautiful golden colour.

Turmeric has been widely studied for its health benefits such as:

  • antioxidant
  • anti-inflammatory
  • aids in digestion
  • anti-parasitic
  • anti-bacterial
  • anti-cancer
  • blood purifier
  • clears the skin
  • Aids memory and brain function

Making Golden Milk is so easy, and by making a Golden Paste ahead of time, you can enjoy a nice hot cup of Golden Milk in minutes!

Here’s how to make Golden Paste and Golden Milk:

Golden Paste:

  • 1/2 cup Organic Turmeric Powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 1.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 5 Tablespoons virgin coconut oil

In a stainless steel pot; gently heat the water, turmeric and black pepper and stir for about 7-10 minutes until it forms a nice thick paste.

After removing the heat, add the coconut oil and mix very well, preferably with a whisk.

Having made the paste transfer it to a sealed jar. It wants to be stored in the fridge and to be finished by the end of the fortnight.

Golden Paste can also be used in smoothies, to make salad dressings, in curries, or any way your heart desires, and pets love golden paste too.

Golden Milk:

  • 1 teaspoon Golden Paste
  • 2 cups milk (I use Almond or Rice Milk)
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
  • Honey to taste (optional)
  • Pinch cinnamon (optional)

In a stainless steel pot; gently heat (but be careful not to boil), 2 cups of milk with 1 teaspoon of golden paste. A whisk is helpful to fully mix the paste into the milk.

Finally add your optional ingredients.
